A New York man has been arrested after a $3,000 backpack was stolen in the city’s Central Park
The backpack was a big hit among New Yorkers who were out in Central Park on Monday morning.
According to reports, a man walked into a store and bought a pair of hiking clothes and a shirt for his wife, who had been visiting the park.
The woman went to get the items, and a man followed her to the store and took the backpack.
He then returned it to the man and took off in his car.
Authorities say the backpack contained clothes and accessories worth $3.4,000, including a pair in men’s sizes.
Police said that they also recovered a credit card receipt, a wallet with a laptop computer, a backpack, and other items.
The backpack was recovered on the West Side Highway in the Bronx.
Police say the suspect is in custody and that he has been charged with felony theft.
